September seems like a much better time to host a 5K than November.
This was the conclusion of the CSU Agronomy Club, which will host a “Grow into the Semester 5K” on the Colorado State University campus on Sept. 30. The event is the second race hosted by the club, which ran its first 5K in November 2015.
Finish on the Oval
This year’s race will be a fun walk/run 5K around CSU’s beautiful campus, starting and finishing on the Oval. The event is open to the general public, as well as students, and there are no age restrictions on participation. The theme of this year’s race is, “Do you give a crop about agriculture?” The race course will give participants the opportunity to learn about Colorado’s agriculture with fun and interesting facts.
Fundraiser for national convention
The Agronomy Club designed the 5Ks as a fundraiser to help send their members to the National Students of Agronomy, Soils, and Environmental Sciences Convention. This year the club’s members will be attending the convention in Tampa, Florida, at the end of October.
Those interested in the race can pre-register at Active.com. There will also be day-of registration available.
