Volunteers needed for CSU’s Nutrien Ag Day

The 38th annual Ag Day kicks off Saturday, Sept. 21, and CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences is looking for volunteers.

The College’s marquee event features an expansive barbecue and tailgate with the help of commodity partners, informational activities, and a CSU Rams football game against the Toledo Rockets at Canvas Stadium. Since the game will be televised on ESPN, the game’s kickoff time won’t be determined until 12 days prior to the event.

All volunteers will receive a complimentary barbecue ticket, a volunteer t-shirt, and the opportunity to purchase a discounted $6 football ticket. To register, visit the volunteer sign-up sheet.

During the event, volunteers will choose from a number of different assignments that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. These assignments include, but are not limited to: working with commodity groups to serve food, helping with beverage distribution, and handing out plates and utensils. Shifts last approximately five-and-a-half hours.

Volunteers are also asked to attend one information session the week leading up to Ag Day festivities to complete paperwork, pick up volunteer T-shirts, and receive information on volunteer assignments. Two sessions will be available: Tuesday, Sept. 17, 5-7 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 19, 9-11 a.m.
